Position Overview:
Do you like uncovering hidden value in discarded items? We are seeking a highly motivated eCommerce Technician to join our team onsite in Palo Alto. As an eCommerce Technician, you will be responsible for identifying electronics qualified for resale, testing functionality, and crafting compelling listings for marketing on various e-commerce platforms, including photos, title/descriptions, and pricing. This role involves meticulous attention to detail, excellent written communication skills, and a strong understanding of product specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in e-commerce, a passion for electronics, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will learn an incredible amount about both different electronics and e-commerce, all while contributing to the circular economy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Item Identification: Identify electronics suitable for resale from the items collected for recycling.
  • Prepping for Resale: Clean, test, and refurbish electronics as necessary to ensure they meet quality standards for resale.
  • Platform Selection: Determine the most appropriate e-commerce platforms (e.g., eBay, Amazon, etc.) for listing based on factors such as item type, condition, market demand, ability to ship, etc.
  • Listing Creation: Create compelling listings including pricing, titles, descriptions, product specs, and high-quality photos to attract potential buyers.
  • Posting Management: Post listings on selected e-commerce platforms, ensuring accuracy and optimization for search visibility.
  • Additional duties may include sales monitoring, customer service, and packaging/shipping.
  • Follow all safety rules for warehouse including wearing of PPE – steel toe shoes, safety vest, gloves, safety glasses and hearing protection when appropriate.
 Qualifications:
  • Enthusiastic hard worker with diligent attention to detail and ability to accurately describe product features and condition.
  • Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change.
  • Ability to work with a variety of computer and software systems.
  • Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day.
  • Previous experience with buying or selling on e-commerce platforms, particularly eBay, is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic products, including computers, smartphones, home appliances, and consumer electronics is a plus.
